‘The annual incidence ranges from 1.16 to 2.02 per 100,000 and is encountered more predominantly in female patients. Typical risk factors for the development of CVT include inherited prothrombotic conditions, brain tumors, trauma, infections, hematological diseases, medications, surgery, pregnancy, and puerperium, amongst others’.
